My Life As a Gay Catholic
Welcome to my blog. Yes, I am a gay Catholic. You may be asking yourself if one can really be both gay and Catholic. I personally believe one can. I do not believe it is an easy life to be both or that I will be fully accepted in either the gay community or the Catholic community. What I do believe is that God made me who I am and I should live my life as the person God intended me to be, that being a gay Catholic.
If you are here because you are trying to find your way as a gay Catholic, I hope that you can find something to relate to here. I do consider myself to be just a regular guy that has ups and downs, struggles and triumphs, and everything in between. These blog postings are just my life stories, my thoughts on living as a gay Catholic.
My Stories and Thoughs
Random Thoughts
June 1st, 2009It has been some time since my last blog and I figured it was time to post something new. I don’t really have a topic for this blog though. I’m thinking it just may end up being random thoughts about events in my life. I would first like to thank all those …
Still Attend Courage
May 7th, 2009It has been some time since the last time I posted a blog entry. In the second to last blog posting that I wrote, I seem very excited about being part of Courage and believing that this was the right group for me. Today I can say I’m at a cross roads …
Posting on a Catholic Forum
April 6th, 2009I think this issue is one of those issues where you can find many difference viewpoints on homosexuality and what the Church teaches. As I pointed out in my earlier posting, that the United State Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) stated that one’s sexuality comes about through “multiple factors—genetic, hormonal, psychological—that may …
Is Courage Right for Me?
March 29th, 2009At the beginning of this year, I decided to start attending Courage. For those who don’t know what Courage is, it’s “a spiritual support group of Catholic lay men and women who aspire to live chaste lives in accordance with the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching on homosexuality.” This definition of the group …
Love Without Sex
March 22nd, 2009I decided to visit gay.com recently and on their homepage in the newsflash section was a picture of Pope Benedict XVI. I click on it and the article the link led me to was titled “The Pope, Condoms & HIV/AIDS: the Need for Some Positive, Helpful Ideas” by Joe Moag. The article …
Angels on the Moon
March 19th, 2009This is one of those songs I just can’t stop listening too. As of right now I have listen to it over 550 times on my iPod and my computer using iTunes. The song is a little over 4 ½ minutes long, so that would be roughly 41 hours of my life …
A Name is but a Name
March 15th, 2009“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet.” ~ William Shakespeare One of the biggest issues I had with accepting my sexuality was that I did not know that the Catholic Church believes people who have “same sex attractions” are born that …
Searching for the Anwser
March 9th, 2009“I feel the more I know God, that He would sooner we did wrong in loving than never love for the fear of doing wrong” ~ Father Andrew A few years back when I was coming to terms with my sexuality, a friend of mine wrote this quote on a piece of …
